Personal Statement
Dear Coaches,
I am a passionate and dedicated swimmer who strives for excellence in both my academic and athletic pursuits. Swimming has been an integral part of my life for the past eight years, and it has taught me valuable lessons that I apply to every aspect of my life. I have learned to be disciplined, perseverant, collaborative, and confident through swimming, and I have achieved remarkable results in the pool and in the classroom. I am a team player who supports and motivates my teammates, and a leader who sets an example for others to follow, always eager to learn new things and challenge myself academically. I have a wide range of interests and hobbies, such as playing chess, the piano, and tutoring K-12 students in STEM. I am looking for opportunities to continue my swimming and academic journey at a higher level, and to contribute to the success and growth of a community that shares my values and goals.
What makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics is that I have a unique combination of skills, talents, and experiences that set me apart from others. I have a strong character that is shaped by my passion for swimming, my values of discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership, and my various interests. I have a proven track record of excellence in athletics, as evidenced by my state record in the 100L Breastroke, and my consistent, rigorous training routine. I have a high level of academic achievement, as demonstrated by my 4.0 unweighted GPA and my curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new things. I am not only a swimmer, a student, or a person, but a combination of all three, and I bring my whole self to everything I do. I believe that I have a lot to offer and a lot to learn from any community that I join, and I am always ready to take on new challenges and opportunities.

It consists of memorizing and reciting: the entire timeline of 160 events from creation to modern times; 24 sentences about history; 24 science questions and answers; multiplication tables through the 15s plus squares and cubes, conversions, and math laws; continents, countries, states, capitals, and physical features from around the world; 24 definitions or lists from English grammar; Latin vocabulary lists, conjugations, declensions, and John 1:1–7 in Latin; and the 46 U.S. presidents. Competed and Won in Mock Trial.
- ActivitiesAwarded the maximum of 5 points while playing the piano in the Young Musicians Festival. Built a website for a local company. Volunteer Tutor and Blog writer at MyStemHelp organization which provides free academic support after school to kids K-12 who require it. Volenteer at the Boys and Girls club of Stamford teaching children to swim. A member of Community Bible Study organization.
