My name is Frankie Di Martini. I am a junior and honor roll student at Wilson High School in West Lawn, Pennsylvania. I presently swim for the Berks Reading YMCA and Wilson High School. Individual events I enjoy include the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 200 Free and 500 Free. I also enjoy swimming the 200 IM. This year I also added the 400 IM and 1000 free to distance events. In addition to swimming I also played Water Polo for Wilson High School and Buxmont Water Polo in 9th grade.
I started swimming at the age of seven at my local swim club. I have been swimming at the Berks Reading YMCA for Coach Kimberly Evans for ten years . I have also been swimming for the Adamstown Gators each summer under Coach Evans for seven years. The YMCA and Adamstown Pool have become a second home to me. Both teams as well as the coaching staff have given me a number of opportunities to grow as an athlete and as a person. The coaches and sport have allowed me develop resilience, confidence and time management skills. Swimming has also helped me to better understand the work ethic, time and effort it takes to achieve your set goals. I feel fortunate to have be given the opportunity to swim for two organizations that believe in and support their athletes.
In addition to swimming and polo, I also enjoy being active at my school. I participate in Concert Choir as well as our district's annual THON event. I am also a mentor through LINK. I volunteer with Berks County Special Olympics. I help support swim coaches and student athletes.
Swimming has taught me not every moment will be my best. It has taught me how to overcome challenges. It has also shown me I need to work to achieve my goals. It has allowed me the opportunity to experience the amazing feeling of success following hard work.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your program !
