2018 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I pride my athletic and academic careers on my motivation to be a better self. My motivation for each day is based on the idea of a better tomorrow. Truthfully, South Dakota is one of the only states that does not have a high school swimming season. Therefore, while I am new to the idea of dual meets, I have grown so close with my club teammates, the family atmosphere is as strong as ever.
One of the hardest aspects of my training thus far is the lack of a facility. In 2008, Mitchell's lone indoor pool was filled in with cement, leaving the Mitchell Aquatic Club to practice in a bubble, above ground pool. Luckily, the city has built a beautiful facility this past year. For my senior year, I have goals for even larger time cuts. If any more questions arise, please feel free to contact me. - My training focuses on the back half of each race. Therefore, because I am a sprint freestyle and backstroker, my training includes various distances repeated multiple times, simulating the end of each race.

Yes. Through my past three years of high school, I have taken honors classes focused mainly on mathematics and science. Such classes include dual enrollment from the local university. - ActivitiesPresident of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Chapter, Parade of Lights driver, teaching swimming lessons, volunteered at the Shrine Circus and Special Olympics, pen-pal for local 5th graders, volunteered at Love Feast and John Paul II's Pancake Feed, Buddy in Special Olympics Basketball, greeted at mass, assisted in packing gift bags for seminarians, and played Jesus for 3 years in the Living Stations.
