Aspirations
Quite simply, I wanna become the best person I can be and make my parents proud. Since my parents came from a war torn country, they were denied many of the opportunities that I have now. So In college, I wanna study something that I'll enjoy for the rest of my life while experiencing the excitement of being a part of a college team. I want to shoot for the stars in my athletic career alongside a supportive team that I will in return, support 100% in all that they do inside and outside the pool.
Personality and Personal Values
I am a huge believer in discipline and a strong work ethic even in things/people that I don't like. I believe that hard work in a supportive environment can bring anyone from rock bottom to success and this was shown through me when I rose from the undisputed weakest band member my freshman year to a highly respected marching captain my junior year all while handling swim and homework at the same time. What sets me apart from others though, is that I advocate preparing for the most unfavorable situations. Life doesn't always go our way and someone's hard work shouldn't be ruined by a factor out of their control and so in swim and in band I train for, and am ready to tackle any unexpected adverse condition. Like marching at competition with a sprained ankle, or when I went a best time in my 500 free at TAPPS while suffering from Bronchitis. I absolutely love the family environment of a real team and thus, a large portion of my drive for success comes from my desire to benefit the team. Therefore, I always give my moral support to my teammates regardless of a good or bad race or practice. A team that I can belong to and serve is large part of my motivation for wanting to join a college team right next to my own personal goals.
