I believe that to be a successful athlete in college you have to be dedicated and motivated to do all that is required of yourself and your own inner drive to succeed. You must set personal goals to push yourself beyond your own capabilities. In the world of competitive swimming, your biggest competitor is yourself. This belief system has allowed me to push myself, improve my form, my time and my work ethic every year since I first began swimming competitively at the age of eight.
I have been fortunate to have been a part of several swim teams that have enforced my true love of swimming. My biggest influence was a coach that I swam with who helped me understand that change is acceptable and that I have to continuously improve. Swimming is like building a wall. You have to build different layers at a time and concentrate on its foundation to ensure it is built to sustain a future in swimming. I may be short in stature but that has never stopped me from moving forward. Academically, I am creative and take the mundane and think outside of the box. I am looking for a program that will be the very best fit for me academically and push me athletically. I am ready, eager and excited to compete at the college level!
