Personal Statement

My name is Josh Wadley and I am a 5'8" 150 lb. mid/long-distance swimmer who swims on a year-round competitive team and a high school team. After swimming my first 500 free during the fall of my Sophomore year, I was hooked. Throughout my Sophomore and Junior years, I dropped significant time in the 200 free (-20 seconds) and the 500 free (-40 seconds) earning a spot in UIL Regionals for both events each year. In my Junior year, I was the highest scoring swimmer for the men's Varsity swim team and earned the team's most valuable player award. I broke 5 school records in the 200 free, 500 free, 200 fly, 400 im, and the men's 4x100 free relay. I am excited for my Senior year as I am training hard to make Sectionals cuts in the 200 free, 400 free (lcm), and 500 free as well as earn a spot at the UIL State competition.

As an accomplished swim athlete and a 3.9 gpa student who is in the top 2% of my class, I strive to master whatever lies before me. From an early age, my parents instilled in me the resilence and courage to commit myself to lofty goals. While the road may not always be easy, the reward in the end is always worth the effort. When the goal seems far, I keep my chin down, have faith in my athletic and academic abilities, and trust that my passionate attitude and tireless work ethic will pave the way to success.

In college, my athletic goals include helping my team earn top placement in conference finals and at division competitions. Academically, I will pursue a doctorate in medicine.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
