Eric Stelmar '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches! My Name is Eric Stelmar.  I have been swimming since I was six years old. I have been a natural backstroker from the very start! I am proud to have been a swimmer in two states as I have grown up. I called Illinois my home until 2016 and then moved to Texas. I had much success in Illinois as an age group swimmer attaining 15 state titles in various events. I even hold three age group records in Illinois. As a high school swimmer in Texas, I have been to the 5A State Championship both Freshman and Sophomore year and placed in the top 8.  My best accomplishment so far this Summer has been at the Futures Championship in MN where I won the 100 Meter Backstroke and placed second in the 200 meter Backstroke. I am a highly motivated, successful student and work as hard in the water as I do out of the water. I was recently named a member of the 2018 USA Swimming Academic All American Team.  

I am looking for a competitive college that values and places importance on education as much as swimming. I want to be able to make an immediate impact on a college team and am setting my goals to be a participant in the NCAA or NAIA National Swim meets.
