Christopher Almanza '19 Recruiting Profile

Over the course of 9 years, my family and I have had the opportunity to experience what swimming has to offer to me. When I was in the 3rd grade I began swimming for the same coach that my previous family had been coached from. From this point on my coach and I both began working together and on to my swim career I went. Up to this point there has been no doubt that I wanted to pursue the sport not only on a higher level, but I knew that I would want to be able to do it for the rest of my life. So, about three years ago the opportunity was presented to me for helping coach swim club in our town. Without any doubt in my mind I took the chance and dove right in. Since that year the progress I have been able to see not only in new swimmers getting better, but in old swimmers that continue to come back every year. I absolutely love the sport and want to be able to inspire my little swimmers to aim bigger in everything they do which will allow them to see the benefits of hard work and dedication. So from this point on there is no doubt in my mind that I want to continue my sport beyond high school. By swimming in college, my knowledge in this sport will only grow helping me in the future with my career, and with my aspiration to do better for the next level team.
