COMMITTED TO OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY
I am the most driven and passionate recruit in the 2020 swimming recruiting class. After being told I wasn't in good enough shape and fast enough to make the swim team, I knew a change had to happen. Losing 70 pounds freshman/sophomore year of High School had earned me a spot on the Varsity Swim Team, which wasn't guaranteed. Climbing through the ladder of top times, I added hours of laps and dry-land exercises outside of mandatory practice. My drive to be better than the swimmers to my left and right on the last lap helps push me through hard sets.
After a shoulder injury late junior year from improper technique, I decided to take the summer off from swimming to take a step back and relax. MRI results showed at minimal 6 months of intense therapy and rest. My rotatory cuffs were both slightly torn. Hearing that devastated me. I took senior year swimming off to focus on academics and rehabilitation. Bands, proper technique with coaches, stretch routines, and a better diet have prepared me for college swimming.
I have had minimal pain and will continue to push myself in the classroom and the pool to better myself, team, and environment,
I sincerely believe even tho I'm not the fastest, I am certainly the most passionate and driven prospect in the 2020 prospect class. Give me a shot, and I won't let you down.
