Joshua Roberts '19 Recruiting Profile

I swim because it is exhilarating, the feeling of diving into a cold pool, the sound of the buzzer, the adrenaline that you get right before you step on the block, I love every moment of it. My swimming career began when I was seven years old with a small YMCA team. Within a year or two I knew this was the sport for me and I wanted to swim year round. I first joined USA Swimming with Tidewater Aquatic Club, a few years later when this team split I followed my coaches over to East Coast Aquatic Team. I joined the Great Bridge Varsity swim team in 2014 as a freshmen. Being on the Great Bridge High School swim team for four years has been one of the best things in my swimming career. It has allowed me to combine my years of competitive swimming with my desire to lead others in this fantastic sport. I am looking forward to college and the opportunity to swim fast and pursue my degree.
