Currently, I plan on going to college to major in mathematics or physics and continuing on to graduate school to get a degree in astrophysics. I also really want to swim in college. In my sophomore season, I place 2nd at the VHSL 2A State meet in the 100 Breaststroke, and made it to finals in my other events as well (50 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay), and got 1st place in the 100 Breaststroke at the 2021 VHSL 2A State meet. I was also selected for the All City/County Boys Swim Team. My best time for the 100 Y Breast is a 1:01.53 and my goal is to go below one minute by senior year. While breaststroke has been my main stroke, I am also giving more attention to dropping time in my 200 I.M. and other events. I enjoy being on a team for the relationships made between the swimmers, and to support team and individual goals.
I am an Eagle Scout, a first-degree black belt in karate, and I swim for three swim teams, all while maintaining all A's in school. Currently, I am a lifeguard as well as an assistant coach for my local summer league swim team. Academically, I am ranked 1 out of 162 in my class with a cumulative GPA of 4.1. Along with my East Rockingham High School classes, I was recently accepted into Massanutten Regional Governor's School for Integrated Environmental Science and Technology. If my busy schedule has taught me anything, it is how to manage my time and persevere to reach my goals. Whether it be a hard practice or long hours of studying, I always give as much as possible. In any sport, activity, or class I have ever taken, I have always worked hard and with a purpose. While in college, I plan on applying and improving my skills and characteristics to take on new challenges when I become a college-level student-athlete.
