I've been swimming since I was 5 but didn't fall in love with the sport until I was a little older when I started taking it more seriously. Swimming is a healthy drug and a gateway that allowed my mind to stay healthy. I'm extremely competitive and love to learn not only in sports but academically as well. I can't imagen not swimming in college and my journey ending in 2 years. I hope my capabilities can provide me an opportunity to continue growth for years to come.
I love to challenge myself both physically, mentally, and academically. I'm always asking questions to improve both my stroke and as a person who handles this sport. In the classroom, I am the same way which has helped me maintain a high GPA and strong relationships with my teachers. I take criticism extremely well and am always ready to listen. I also provide a sense of humor that is always a delight at 4:30 in the morning.
I love volunteering my time in the pool. Helping kids fall in love with the sport the way I did feels not only full circle but also extremely rewarding. When the kid I taught who was too scared to even touch water finishes their first 25 brings joy not only to me but to their parents and grandparents. This sport is more than just a race to me, It defines the person I am and I don't want that to stop after Highschool.
