Nathaniel Hayes '20 Recruiting Profile

           I have loved the water ever since I was a baby. It always felt calm and smooth.  I began swimming at my local YMCA when I was 7.  I was there for only a short season and really enjoyed the social aspects of the sport.  When the season ended, I wanted to continue swimming, so I joined a year-round club team.  Since then, I have continued to swim everyday and I enjoy every minute of it.

           I love to give back to the community.  I help other coaches on the weekends by getting in the water and working with younger kids.  My coach also has me working with swimmers during team sponsored stroke and turn clinics.  I helped put together a team of swimmers from my high school to participate in Swim Across America.  Our group of nine swimmers raised over 5,000 dollars to benefit cancer research.  In the future, I hope to find a college that will help advance my academic and athletic goals.
