Swimming in college has always been a dream of mine since the day I first hopped in the pool. My swimming journey began at the age of 8, when my parents signed me up for my first lessons. I loved every single second of being in the pool and improved exponentially as each season progressed. After many years of hard work, I have broken 10 school records, I've been named to the All-Conference and All-Region Teams twice (2019 and 2020) and 1st Team All-State once (2020), and won two state titles at the 2020 West Virginia High School State Championship. In the future, I plan to win multiple state titles and break the state record in the 100 yard butterfly (47.61) and the 200 yard freestyle (1:39.14). I believe my hard work ethic and determination sets me apart from my peers, as I am constantly looking for ways to improve my times. I believe I have the potential to make a competitive impact on a division 1 swim team. Outside of the pool, I have excelled academically, which I think will be beneficial to any school in the country. My potential as a swimmer is "the sky's the limit," as I believe I have many areas for improvement, including technique, strength, and conditioning. I want to become a college athlete for the same reason I love swimming for my high school team--for the team environment, because the relationships built on the team will last a lifetime.
Recently my end of the season taper meet was cancelled due to the coronavirus so my current best times are nowhere near where I believe they could have been if I had had the opportunity to swim in the meet.
