Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was nine years old. When I first jumped in the pool, I knew that swimming was my sport. For a few years, I was on the baseball team, football team, I even wrestled ... all while continuing to swim. By the age of 11, I gave up all other sports so that I could train in the pool full time. I had the opportunity to live in Asia for two years with my family, and while residing in Singapore I was lucky to train with SwimFast Aquatics under Coach David Lim. I was so blessed to be able to compete in the Singapore National Age Group Championships, as well as the Australian National Long Course Championships in Sydney Olympic Park. Competing in the international setting was amazing!!
I am a very competitive swimmer with the technique and times to succeed at the collegiate level. I am a team leader both in my USA Swimming Club and on my High School team, and I try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. At this point I am interested in majoring in the field of Science, leaning towards medical fields.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud. I know that swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life!
