My mother introduced swimming to me when I was younger; I swam before I could walk. I joined the YMCA swim team when I was eight. I liked having fun in the water but I did not like the pressure of the meets. I qualified for USA state right away and that became the success I wanted every season, even if it meant going to meets. Early on, I was not the most dedicated swimmer but as I got older, I had more success and that feed my desire to get better. It also helped me handle the pressure of meets. Once I fully dedicated myself to the sport of swimming, I became faster and became a more confident swimmer; swimming gave me a sense of purpose. I moved to a more competitive swim team and continued to get better in technique and speed. Now as a high school swimmer, I never miss practice and give 110% in each workout I swim. Swimming has become an extremely important part of my life; I want to go to the next level in college. I am looking for a swim program that can help me continue to be a better swimmer.
