Howdy, My name is Jack Barden and personally, I’m not one to like coming up short. Over the past few years, I’ve spent time on improving as a student, athlete, and most importantly, a person.
As my classes have gotten harder I’ve had to adapt and change how my time is spent. Now instead of playing games or playing on my phone, I typically spend my time either studying, playing cards, or swimming.
With being new to a high school team, my workouts have had to change (get a lot harder and longer), as I go from set to set, I always push myself in order to achieve my fullest potential.
Last but definitely not least, I’ve improved as a person as well. When I’m around others, I’m typically the first one to break the silence. I always tend to go up to someone that I have never met before and greet them and talk with them for a while. I’m also a great leader especially because of my actions on both my high school and summer teams where many have said “thank you Jack.” or “I wish there would be more like you.” or even “I wish people actually knew how to set up the timing system, I wish you could just do it, even for your own meets.” I know that it’s not only the person I’m talking to who appreciates what I’m doing, it’s also people that are around and see what I do. Time and time again, I have had parents of kids come up to me and thank me for what I do and how nice it is for me to spend time with their child.
