I am currently a junior at Ruben S. Ayala High School in Southern California and I have been team captain for the last two years. I have been playing competitive tennis since the age of 6. I have a strong passion for tennis and my goal is to play at the collegiate level. I have been Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team for three of the four years I have played. I love to learn and I cannot tell you how excited to attend college and play tennis. I am also eager to attend a college that will prepare me for the wonderful opportunities that life has to offer.
Among my interests is the study of aviation. I've always had a strong interest in cars and airplanes. I would like to be an aviator as a career choice and support our country via the military. My goal is to qualify to be pilot in either the Air Force or the Navy. However, I am open to getting my college degree first. Another strong interest of mine is engineering. I enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. I love to tinker with my dad's 66' Mustang. I also enjoy helping out my community. I'm very involved with my church and have had many opportunities to participate in community service projects. I have served as a youth leader for younger kids and I am proud to be a good example to them. I am also very adventurous. I enjoy things like bike riding, hiking, surfing, cars, and attending air shows. I also have a part-time job at a Tennis Club called Tennis Anyone! I am one of the coaches that supports all age groups. I also have a small racquet stringing business (out of my garage).
I am currently ranked #71 in boys 18’s. My UTR rating is currently 10. My goal this year is to increase my UTR and really give it all I have. Although tennis is very important to me, I have a variety of other interests. I look forward to attending college and learning about different topics so that I can be a well-rounded person. I feel that I have leadership skills that could help the school and tennis team if I am given the chance. I always give 100% effort in everything I do.
I would love to have the opportunity to attend a great university and to represent that school on the tennis court.
Respectfully,
Dylan Ojeda, Junior
