Jacobus Du Plessis '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Jacobus Albertus du Plessis and I currently attend Buchanan High School in Clovis, California. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. and moved to the U.S.A in 2012 at age 10. Playing college tennis has been my goal for a long time. I see myself as different to other recruits in that I can connect with all types of people and personalities. I also love the team atmosphere of tennis and would never put myself ahead of anybody or the team. Team success, rather than individual success is always my goal.  Along with this, I see myself as being a positive influence on members of the team as I always look at the positives and bigger picture. I am always composed on and off the court.One characteristic that sets me apart is my work ethic. I have true passion for the game, hard work and the legends that played the game. Academically wise, I am a hard worker who wants to be successful in any subject I take and always make sure I'm organized with my work before I step on the tennis court. I feel like I have a lot of potential and a lot to offer on both a college sports team and in the classroom.
