I was introduced to volleyball through my two older sisters, who started playing when I was very little, and I took a liking to it immediately. As a result of starting so young, I struggled to mentally catch up to my teammates. Since then, I have worked extremely hard on the mental aspect of my game and have improved immensely. Volleyball has helped me learn how to win with grace and lose with grace, and how to be a team player even in difficult situations. I am extremely competitive and a perfectionist, but volleyball has taught me how to learn from and bounce back from my mistakes. This has also carried over to my life off the court as well.
I would like to study history in college and go into an occupation involving museums such as a museum curator, archivist, and conservator. I’m looking for a college that will challenge me academically just as much as it challenges me athletically, and pushes me to be the best version of myself. I am willing to sacrifice for the greater good of any team I play on through dedication, determination, and leadership.
