My name is Cameron McAllister, and my goal is to continue my academic and athletic career in college, playing tennis in a DIII program and studying for a career in sports broadcasting. I am a very hard worker both off and on the court. I have a 4.85 GPA and take my academics very seriously. I mostly enjoy writing and sports which is why I would like to major in journalism, broadcasting, or sports media studies. My hard-working mentality also translates onto the tennis courts. I work every day to achieve new goals I set for myself and always have an objective for each hit. One thing that I believe sets me ahead of most tennis players is that I don't let adversity affect me mentally. Instead of getting frustrated while down or losing points during a match, I am always thinking about new strategies or patterns to disrupt my opponent’s style of play. I would like to say I am an all-court player—my strong suit is using my forehand to open up the court, attacking from inside the baseline using a plethora of shots and serves to create space. While I am most successful on the attack, I also am very comfortable playing behind the baseline, using high and deep neutralizing balls to work my way back inside the court. I fight for every ball and always have a strategy in mind for each point I play.
To any team, I bring lots of fun, sportsmanship, and teamwork. I will put the success of the team over myself, and I think it is very important to better and help someone out just as much as oneself. I love all types of sports, and you will never catch me doing something that is not active. I am very excited to explore my options to play collegiate tennis!
