Hi, I'm Julia Ryan. I am 18 years old and I am a senior at Mission Bay High School in San Diego, CA. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and have been playing club soccer since I was 7 years old. Currently, I play for the Surf SC 2004/05 ECNL-RL team, coached by Gus Castaneda. Prior to playing for Surf, I played for Rebels and Albion. I was the Captain of my Albion team for several years. My soccer has developed over the years, but I always continue to strive to get better. I am looking forward to my upcoming Club season playing in the ECNL-RL and high school season, where I know I will play against some of the best players my age. This will be challenging, but I have confidence in my coaches, my skills and my work ethic that I will be up to the challenge.
I have enjoyed High School, and I am really glad that we are back at school learning. During my freshman, sophomore and junior years, I was honored to represent my High School playing soccer for the Varsity Team. I have also played indoor volleyball on the Freshman Team and sand volleyball on the JV Team. Although soccer is my first love, I like playing other sports, as they help keep me fit, and they also expose me to different strategies and team concepts.
My dreams is to play soccer in college. I will continue to work hard so I can achieve my dream, but I know that this will not be easy.
