Hi, my name is Albert Shi!
I've been playing tennis for the past 9 years. I became more devoted to playing college tennis after playing Junior Team Tennis for 6 years and playing National team events with Northern California. From these experiences, I've learned that tennis is not just an individual sport, but rather a sport that embodies team spirit and attitude. The integration of team atmosphere and competition helped me recognize that I aspire to become a collegiate athlete. I enjoy playing on a team because the energy within a team environment inspires me to compete and to play my best tennis, and I love supporting and encouraging others. Additionally, I am a versatile player: I love to play not only singles but also doubles. I enjoy doubles as it offers a whole new dynamic that stresses communication and introduces the factor of netplay. Besides tennis, I attend a competitive public high school in California, and I give my best effort to study and excel in school because I know that education, just as much as tennis, will impact my future. Being a student-athlete for my entire life, I have developed my time management skills in order to balance tennis with academics.
