Personal Statement

I love reading books, playing tennis, drawing graph-based art, playing the cello, and playing video games are my pastimes. I have been playing tennis since I was 3 years old, but have only been playing competitively for around 5 of my 13 years of tennis. I am very interested in acting and am planning on doing more of it this summer and next school year.  Along with playing the cello I am taking guitar next year along with music theory in hopes of learning more about composing music.  I'm looking forward to playing college tennis, my first love is the tennis court . I enjoy the rhythm of tennis, challenge in competition of playing your best against opponents with different skill sets and tempo.  Tennis is so much a part of me I can't image not playing tennis.

  • My first match went well, played one of the players from the last tournament again, and soundly beat him, again. Then well.......rain. 4 hours of it. Oh and, it hailed too. Good thing we were playing on indoor courts right? Totally, except for the fact that the water seeped in under a door to, you guessed it, flood the courts. When I did finally get to play I had an amazing match that I unfortunately lost 4-6 4-6 but had a lot of fun with. I was playing very well, and all but 4 of the games went to deuce and the points were an average of 10-12 shots long. Anyways it was an awesome match, my opponent played great and Im excited for a chance to play him again!
  • Camp/Event
  • Rocky Mountain Tennis Center Jr. Challenger
  • 4/23/16 to 4/24/16
  • Had an incredible first match in singles, barely pulling out the win in an 8-game pro set 9-8 (10-5) , but the rest of the group stage was a breeze, 8-0 and 8-2 for my next 2 matches. In the playoffs I won all of my matches 6-1 (we were only playing one set) for the trophy :P Then in doubles my and my partner Jonathan only lost 1 of our 4 matches, taking second place, and getting another trophy!

  • Lifetime Jr. Tennis Championships
  • 4/15/16 to 4/17/16
  • Was Seeded 2nd, so first round was a bye, then I won my second round match , and then lost in the third round in an incredible match playing my heart out. Had a lot of fun and looking forward to playing this tournament again next year.
