I am a junior at Estero High School in Florida, USA. I am a member of the High School tennis team, and I also play USTA Junior Tournaments. I have been ranked as as No. 1 in our school team and No. 994 nationally. My Universal Tennis Rating is a 7.4.
Tennis was always my passion, I started playing when I was 6. One of the hardest skills to learn was my serve; however, if I missed my first serve, I had a moment to clear my mind and refocus for a second try. What I love about tennis is the fact that in every match you have to develop a new strategy based on your opponent's strength and weaknesses. You need to plan and adjust to the game. Each match is a unique experience for me.
Besides, tennis, I am a marching band member (saxophone payer), A-Team member, and a runner. I run usually 2-3 half marathons per year since I was 14. Running helps me to clear my mind and set my priorities.
Regarding to my college major, I want most likely to earn a master’s degree in chemical engineering. I like the idea of applying the principles of chemistry, biology, physics and math to solve problems that involve the production of chemicals, fuel instead of depleting natural resources. At this point, we have no choice but to focus on using alternative energy sources.
