Hi there! My name is Luke Saab and I've played tennis for 15 years. My dream and goal are to become a professional tennis player and to maximize any potential I have. Growing up my dad, who is my coach, wanted me to be a tennis player so I learned the game and grew to love it more than anything else. I have also been homeschooled my whole life so I could prioritize tennis while still focusing on my education. I started playing Junior tournaments around the age of 13 and only played approximately 4 up to the age of 16. From that age on I did very well in tournaments and won many consecutively as well as rise higher in the rankings and UTR. The reason behind why I played very few tournaments before 16 was because my dad didn't want me to burn out by playing many tournaments at such a young age, which now is something we both sometimes regret.
I went from a 7 UTR three years ago to a 10 only a year and a half after. As you can see on my UTR I haven't been the most active recently and that is because I took a hiatus from the USTAs and went to the Czech Republic to train there and experience the climate change and altitude as both affect how tennis is played. I am currently a 10 UTR and I feel as though I haven't even scratched the surface of my potential. As I said before my goal is to become a professional tennis player no matter what the cost, and I am hungry and eager to find whatever potential I haven't found in myself yet and I am willing to train and fight like an animal to uncover the best out of me. I am using the NCSA as a tool to see what possibilities and options I may have through college tennis to help me get to the pros eventually. I have another pathway open to me if the college system doesn't work out, and that is training and grinding in Europe in futures and challengers to improve and rise in the rankings. I have family in the Czech Republic and I know the coaches for some of the academies there, so if I weren't to go to college I have great opportunities there. I despite this wanted to take initiative and check out to see what college may have in store for me, because I know that college would be a great chance to improve my game and to study. I also know that many professionals have used the college system to make it onto the ATP tour.
As for my schooling, I am a Science Major and have Graduated through the GED Testing program and I earned college credit in Science. My grade average is B but I have A potential. I am also a musician and a good listener, which is why I believe I would do well in a team environment. I am also a Christian; I was brought up in a loving and supportive environment with my family and I have faith that God has a plan for me in whichever path I take. Once again I just want to say that I will do whatever it takes to bring out the best in myself, be it through college or futures, I know I will give it my all and God-willing become a professional someday.
Thank you for your time and have a blessed day.
