Prior to his illness, I always played tennis with my dad. I want to continue a goal that he started and play tennis at the college level. I would like to play at a large school at a high level. I know that playing tennis at the college level will open doors and opportunities for me that I would not be able to have otherwise.
I am a good candidate for a team because I am team player. I maintain a positive attitude even in the face of adversity and I rise to challenges that I am faced with.
Additionally, having come from Hawaii, I have been fortunate to have worked with people of all different cultural backgrounds so I can get along with pretty much anyone. I enjoy being coached and improving my skills and look forward to opportunities to better myself both athletically and academically.
I have tried to be well-rounded in high school. I have competed in soccer, tennis, robotics, and esports; but, tennis is my passion. I have volunteered in several programs as a mentor for younger students and athletes. I enjoy programming and engineering, and I hope to pursue a career in software engineering upon graduating college.
