January 2018Personal Statement
My name is Timothy Lowe, and I am a Varsity Doubles tennis player at Barrington High School (rising senior). During my freshman and sophomore years, I played Junior Varsity 1st Doubles both seasons, and went 53 and 4. Volleying is my best skill, as my strength is being at the net. As a multi-sport athlete who is also a wide-receiver for Varsity football, my tennis and football coaches often tell me that I have good hands. Apparently, I am very good at "putting the ball away".
My most important college goal that I want to achieve is becoming a hall of fame tennis player wherever I attend. I am always coach-able and will never put a teammate down. At the end of freshman year, after finishing MSL Tournament Sectionals with two straight wins, I came down with the stomach flu. As a result, I gave up my 1st Doubles spot to a teammate so my team had a higher chance of winning. Proudly, my JV team finished 1st place in the 2016 MSL tournament. During my sophomore year, I took 1st Doubles 1st place in the 2017 MSL tournament. My Junior year, I had the opportunity to play 2nd, 3rd and 4th Doubles throughout the season and took 4th Doubles 1st place in the 2018 MSL tournament. Both years, my team also finished 1st place overall in the MSL tournament.
I love tennis and everything about it, and I want to play the sport for the rest of my life.
