My name is Nihar Simhadri and I am a Varsity Doubles tennis player at Fremd High School(Senior).
I played 1 Singles on Junior Varsity during my freshman year. Most of the year, I played Varsity 3 as the player was injured.
I participated in cross country during my sophomore year to improve my movement.
I played 3 Singles on Varsity during my sophomore year. My strength was playing from baseline and needed improvement at the net.
I played 2 Singles / 3 Doubles on Varsity during my Junior year. Playing doubles helped improve my volleying at the net.
I played USTA matches for several years(12s through 18s) to improve my overall match play.
I have had several coaches over the years and have always used their feedback to incrementally improve my game over the years to get to the consistency I am at.
My tennis coaches often tell me that I have a good baseline game and return the ball well.
Tennis has been in my life since I was a ten year old and an important college goal I have is to continue that and be a dependable player to my team. I am always coach-able and will never put a teammate down.
In spite of the tough academic curriculum I have chosen and injuries that I have been through, I have always been there for my team.
Additionally, I have supported our coach during several tournaments as he switched our positions from singles to doubles or vice versa to not complain and go with the game plan against different teams.
I enjoy tennis and everything about it (playing, watching and cheering), and I want to play the sport for the rest of my life.
