I deeply love the game of tennis. I fell in love with it rather late however. I started playing it in 8th grade, and I had an instant bond with it. My first two years of high school I was not able to show my full potential in the sport, I had all the right mechanics, but I struggled with my weight and agility. I remember thinking in my head one night, and making the decision that I was going to play tennis collegiately. That was the ultimate turning point in my life. I joined track and shaped up my eating habits. This past season, at the beginning, I was able to say that I had lost over 85 lbs! Along with that I can now say I am the fastest person on my team and was able to take the number one doubles spot/ one singles spot for our team. I was able to better my character along the way too. With the help of a student- athlete leadership conference, and the help of two wonderful coaches I was able to lead and command a team. I learned the many points of bringing up a team and helping them win. The whole point of that story was to show you that I have the work ethic and leadership it takes to play at the next level. Along with my season and managing our girls tennis team, I have sacrificed my ”partying time” to work and balance many things. I do many extra curriculars(listed in my profile) that take up my “free time.” Yet I still find ways to put extra time into tennis. I am also currently working to get my GPA up the most it can go before I graduate, because I feel it does not show the amount of work I put in at the “student“ part of student athlete. I hope you reach out to me, and get to know what I am all about. I feel as if I would be a great addition to any team.
