As a track and field athlete and student, I am a determined, coachable, and self-driven individual. I give my all in everything from academics to athletics, to my personal life. I believe in setting high, achievable goals for practice, competitions, or in the classroom.
I began my athletic career as a basketball player. In my 8th grade year, I started looking for a Spring sport. I had always been able to run and jump well, so I joined the track team. That season, I placed first or second in every meet for the high jump then finished the year by winning both county and conference meets. As a freshman, due to the injury of an upperclassman teammate, I added hurdles to my event list. I competed in high jump, 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and the 4x400 relay. I regularly finished 1st or 2nd in these events and was able to compete in Sectionals as well. My sophomore and junior seasons were both affected by Covid-19 so I am really looking forward to competing in my senior season. With hard work and determination, I hope to improve over my previous seasons. I will always put forth my best effort and work as hard in the classroom as I do on the field of competition.
In the classroom, I am focused and determined to always do my best and put 100% effort into all homework assignments, projects, and tests. I am an A / B student but chose not to take part in the Honors classes offered since I am extremely active in sports and extracurricular activities, but I take pride in my academic achievements.
I am extremely dedicated in the classroom and in athletics. I will always give 100% effort and perform to the best of my ability. I have made a commitment to myself, and my family, to be the best student-athlete I can be.
