As you may already know, my name is Jesse Hernandez, I am currently in my junior year of high school, and heading into my second semester. Something that I believe sets me apart from other recruits is the fact that I won't give up, no matter how hard things get, no matter how wide the difference between me and my opponent is, no matter how much better my opponent has been set out to be, no matter how exhausted I have become during a match, I will still give it my 1000%. I will always work harder than others, even if my team is giving it their 100% I will give it my 110% because I tend to try to be better than everyone else when it comes down to sports, you see, I am aiming for the top. However, I also know that it is impossible to get to the top without teamwork, teamwork is what makes a team what it is, I am not aiming to only make myself better than everyone else, I am aiming to make my team get to the top, make the world know the name of my school and my team because I believe that if a team as a whole can't get to the top, no one in it will be able to get to the top either. I work as a lifeguard for my city, and in my line of work, teamwork is the key to be able to perform a perfect rescue, so I apply teamwork in my everyday life, I am also a proud AFJROTC cadet in my school so I also tend to include my core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do, to teamwork. I also believe that in order for a team to have teamwork, we need to be able to see each other as more than just a team, as more than just friends, but as a family, because at the end of the day, we are all going through this together, day after day, training none stop, working towards the same goal. I want to be part of a team that I can be proud of, and say that we are going to be the best.
