My name is Lance Gilbert Francisco and I thank everyone so much for viewing my profile.
I am a senior student from Ewing High School and play 1st single for the team since freshman year. My dreams are to play college tennis and to get a very good education at the same time.
My dad has always been my coach and taught me the basics since I started playing tennis at the age of 12. Ever since then, I fell in love with the game like it's my life. I worked really hard for 4 to 6 hours almost everyday during each summer in the hopes of playing college tennis. I am also watching countless amounts of TV and youtube videos of my most favorite tennis player Roger Federer, to learn more about the game. My goal is to get better everyday and improve all aspects of my game. My parents also push me to work really hard and to believe in myself.
In the past years, my dad focused more on helping me improve my fundamentals than on tournaments, especially since I started playing a little bit late. That is the reason why my USTA ranking right now is not really high. But now, we are shifting our focus to more tournaments and putting a premium on my fitness. The goal is to play at least 1 or 2 tournament(s) every month until August of next year to become match tough. To help me achieve that goal, my parents enrolled me in a High Performance Program at Nassau Tennis Club, the premiere tennis club in the area for junior development.
Since third week of September in 2013, my USTA Middle States sectional ranking jumped from 244 to 97 at the end of December 2013.
I always believe that I am on the upside now and my hardworks are starting to pay off as my games are starting to come together and I'm also starting to get use to competing extensively. So please give me the chance to showcase my talent in front of you and not just evaluate me base on my ranking.
I am very coachable and I want to play singles or doubles in a very good college that can help me improve my game and take it to the next level. I am also very friendly and easy to get along with others and love to compete in a team atmosphere.
