I am interested in playing college tennis at a Division III school with strong academics. I have always been a very consistent and smart player and pride myself in being patient during points and matches and constructing points based on my opponent's weaknesses. I play with a very calm demeanor and feel that I have a very strong mental game. I have played many matches against opponents that get frustrated when they start falling behind or when they lose points they felt like they should have won. I thrive in those situations.
I have grown about eight inches in the last two years and am much stronger than I used to be. This growth has greatly improved my ability to hit big serves and ground strokes. Coupled with my patience, calm court demeanor and shot selection, my game has evolved a lot in the last year. I have won matches recently that I wouldn't have been able to win just six months ago. I am in the semi finals this year in our club's men's singles tournament, having won matches against the best adults in our club. My next match will be the toughest, against a player who has won the tournament many times. But, I've got a game plan and think I can prevail.
Most importantly, I love tennis. When I am playing, I feel at peace and don't have a care in the world. It's where I find joy.
I want to continue playing and learning from a coach and teammates at the college level.
