Hello Coaches,
My name is Xavier Castillo and I am a senior this year at Valencia High School. I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old. I’ve grown up on the court, since my parents are the high school coaches. I have helped my parents coach summer camps for 10 and under for the past 5 years.
As a freshman, I took third place in district and qualified for state. I was disappointed that my sophomore year of tennis was cancelled due to COVID. As a junior, I went undefeated in the regular season in both singles and doubles. I took first in district and went to the semifinals in state. I’m looking forward to another great season my senior year and would love to take state!
I enjoy playing in USTA tournaments and local events. I am passionate about playing tennis and want to improve my game and take it to the next level. I am self motivated on and off the court. I am hardworking when it comes to both athletics and academics, and I am always looking to improve. What makes me different from other recruits is that I love to observe the game of tennis as much as I love to play it. I enjoy playing both singles and doubles, and my preferred position on the court is being aggressive at the net.
I am undecided in my major at this time, but I really enjoy history and geography. I might follow in my parents footsteps and become an educator.
