My name is Nolan Sottoway and I am a tennis student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA. As long as I have played tennis, I have wanted to play at the college level. Until high school, this desire to play in college was simply based on my love of the sport. However, as the reality of college comes closer, I've started to look at tennis as more than just something that's fun to play. My high school classes have gotten harder over the last three years, and my relationship with tennis has evolved into an outlet for stress. I now look at tennis not only as somewhere to dedicate my time and effort, but also as a way to give the tired parts of my brain a rest. Another aspect of college tennis I look forward to is the increased intensity and seriousness. There will be higher stakes, higher goals, and more commitment, which are just more ways to learn outside of school.
