Personal Statement

My name is Alan Murillo and I am a senior at a not so well known school in Dallas. I am a person who is dedication to whatever task I put my self to, and I find love to keep on doing it at my 100%. I started off my freshman year really strong academically and in my athletic life. Like I said previously I have been playing tennis for my school since my freshman year. I have been working myself up the latter and started receiving positions and responsibilities since my junior year. Junior year was our best year for our team. I was given the position of lieutenant number two and the position of number 5 in boys singles and position number 2 in boys doubles. The team made it far that year but not to where we were hoping, we were hoping to make it to state but we missed it by a step. I kept on working hard and was named captain of the team by the beginning of my senior year and was able to jump up positions to number 1 boys singles and number 1 boys doubles. I am a person that always tries to move up the latter and I give my everything to accomplish it. My parents have always helped me reach my goal and were able to get me a private coach and we have been working together for a year. During my tennis years and high school years I was able to hold a high position in the team but also in school. I have been able to keep up with my AP classes and my dual credit classes and maintain a great average. I have done about 3 AP classes and about 6 dual credit classes if not more.  So far I have about 1/2 of my college basics done, with all of that work that I have put into my high school time and all of the great averages that I have been coming out with put me in the top 5% of my class and get me at a 3.99 G.P.A at my high school and get me at a 3.5 at the community college that I am working with.  Those are not the only activities that I was doing along with the ones stated, I was also a member of the national honor society, student senate, and I still worked to have my own money. I managed to get a position of student co-head in student senate and was still able to put in about 25-30 hours a week in my job. As provided above I am a person that is able to manage multiple activities and still be able to be held at a high standard. Also I am a person who has no problem working in a group or with a team and actually prefers to do it that way.
