I am a very committed athlete who ALWAYS tries my very best. I have a very positive attitude and my demeanor on the court and in life is always happy and upbeat. All of my coaches say that I am one of the most coachable students they have ever worked with. I love the sport and my dream is to play in college. A lot of my friends in big high schools are burned out, but that does not describe me at all. My mom truly believes I will peak in my college tennis career. I have attended a very small, private school since I was 2 years old. It is a christian school where I have been taught very good morals and values along the way. I am from a very loving family where tennis has been a very large part of our daily life. My mom has coached junior team tennis for over 5 years and this is where my desire for the sport really began. I have attended about 4 state tournaments during my junior team tennis career. My mom was instrumental in getting the tennis program started at our high school and in two short years we have an outstanding coach in place and our team won over 40 medals/trophies this season. I personally won 6 doubles medals and 2 singles medals. Our boys team was second place state this year and my partner and I earned second place in doubles. I was 3rd place at regionals in singles in 2017 and a quarter-finalist at state that same year. Although we are a private school, our team has been allowed to play in all of the area 4A-6A tournaments since my freshman year. The highlight of my tennis career is when I champed up last August shortly before my 16th birthday. I now play in tournaments almost every weekend working very hard to try and Superchamp. I am currently in the top 29% of ranking points for Champ division tennis. I will continue working hard over the summer to attain my goal of Superchamp. The main thing that makes me stand out is how I truly will give 110% on every single point and I will never give up. My mother says that my mental strength is every bit as strong as my skills with my racquet. I am extremely fast and have been told many times that people cannot believe how I can get to anything! Another quality about me is that I am a very nice person and I pride myself on this. I have been taught to go onto the court and beat people with my TENNIS and not a bunch of ancillary tactics that end up making the match miserable. I am honest, decent, and always have great manners on and off of the court. I would never do anything to embarrass myself or my team. I am definitely a team player and I am always willing to do what is best for the team. Although I have always preferred playing singles, it was advantageous to our team this year for me to play doubles. I never questioned it and did what my coach asked of me. It allowed our team to earn more points and resulted in not only a second place team title, but a second place doubles title as well. I am excited about the prospect of playing tennis in college as a way for me to not only continue doing what I love, but to also make a group of friends and share incredible experiences with them. Although I am undecided a this point what I want to major in during college, I am a committed student who will do everything to make the grades necessary to keep all doors open. My current school year GPA is 98.15. In closing, I know that I would be an asset to any college team. I will always gives my best and work as hard or harder than anyone else while having a lot of fun in the process. My family has taught me that everything is about the journey. It's great to win a big tournament, but if the journey wasn't worthwhile, the end result isn't nearly as rewarding.
