Tennis has become a large part of my life and has shaped me to be who I am today. Ever since my father gave me my first tennis racket, my passion for the sport has kept with me until now. I have always wanted to and continue to become the best tennis player I can be. It has always been a goal of mine to play tennis at the collegiate level. On the court I value my game both mentally and physically to show the best representation of myself as a person and as a tennis player. To be the best tennis player possible, I take every opportunity and make it count. Whether it be a chance to improve my game in practice, or beat a great player in a match, I make each opportunity something I can learn from and improve upon. I have learned to live in a way that every opportunity you receive, or create, can make me become a better person than I am today. Every coach I get to meet, every match I play, every ball I hit in practice, and everything I learn helps me to do my best as a tennis player.
In my future I want to go into a career in political science or economics, but I am also considering careers in journalism or accounting. I value my academics as much as I do my tennis game. I currently hold a 3.92 GPA (unweighted) and continue my goals as I want to finish high school with a GPA 3.9 or higher. I do my best in school, and just like in tennis I take every opportunity to help me succeed. I consistently pursue a growth mindset. I do my best to help others in school, as well as on the tennis team. I am often willing to accept and learn from criticism so I can do the best job possible. I am always open to new thoughts and ideas from coaches. Many of my coaches tell me I am a very coachable player, as I always listen to ideas and advice from them. Thank you for taking time to read over my personal statement, and I hope you consider me in potential recruiting for your tennis team.
