My name is Ben Stewart, I graduated high school in 2022. I did not start running until my junior year things where I finished the season off with a 4:46 1600 and a 2:08 800. My senior year I started to develop a feel for running. With only 15-20 miles a week I finished my senior season off with a 4:33 1600 and a 2:00.03 800.
I now compete at Marion Military Institute (2 year). My training has changed since I got here, from running little mileage in high school to 40-50 miles a week in college. Switching training styles started my improving a little later than I would have hoped for. However, I have had more endurance for my 1500 (4:10). Normally after the 1500 I compete in the 800 where I have little rest (30 minutes - 1 hour). I run consecutive 2:01 in the 800 on dead legs.
At Marion Military Institute I am the Battalion Commander where I am over the whole Corps of cadets. I am also In AFROTC with a GPA of 3.941. Most of my college will be paid for through AFROTC after I graduate. I am looking to walk on to a school that has an AFROTC detachment.
