Hopefully if you are reading this I have caught your attention. My name is Aidan and I live in Delta Junction Alaska, and have been doing sports my whole life. As a child I did two years of club soccer, a brief taekwondo stint, and started cross country running in fourth grade. Since starting cross country I found I actually really like running and did very well at it. After my first cross country season I ran again the following year and joined my school's track team. In sixth grade I stopped doing sports due to some changes in my personal life, and I wouldn't run again for the next two years. My freshman year of high school I missed the deadline to register for cross country, but at the end of the year I signed up for track. This was in 2020 and our season got canceled. The next year however I joined both sports and loved it. I had also joined wrestling, but did not rejoin the following year. The following year I was made captain of my cross country team (As a junior) and won the regional title for the 800m dash in track. The year after this I maintained my captainship of the cross country team and led us to getting second place overall at regionals, and eighth place overall at state. My last high school season of track and field is currently ongoing and I'm setting my goals high.
Academically I have never really struggled, but still made mediocre grades due to laziness for my first three years of high school. My senior year I changed this attitude and made a much better gpa, and work ethic, and deciding to join StuCo and Chess classes as an extra avenue of getting involved with my school.
For sports at the college level I wish to not only excel myself, but to help my future team to do so as well. My success is pleasing, but success as a team is much more fulfilling to me. I never miss practices, and I always go to my competitions, because I know that if I want to be the best that I must work hard (Even in the off-season). I show up to my practices with a good attitude and ready to work, and I compete with the highest professionality I can give, even giving away better placing to help an injured competitor. All of this is what makes me a good fit for any track or cross country team at the college level.
