My name is Khari Gurley-Yi. I am a runner at Empire High School in Vail, Arizona. My first event is the 200m, with a PR of 22.30sec holding the event record since 2017. My second event is the 400m, with a PR of 49.99 holding the event record since 2009. My third event is the 4x400 Relay with a team PR time of 3:20.02, holding the team record since 2012 and assisting my team in advancing to State Championships. I run club track for Tucson Elite Athletic Club and ran at the USATF Junior Olympics for Regionals in Aurora, Colorado in the 4x100m and 4x400m and advanced to Nationals at College Station, Texas A&M for the 4x400m (49.90 split) and 4x100m (10.78 split). For my senior year, I am hoping to bring my 200m down to a 21.8 and my 400m to a 49.1. I will also run the 100m this year, and I hope to run a 10.9. I am a great student, so coaches will never have to worry about me being ineligible, my current GPA is a 3.750, I love seeing my teammates win whether it’s on the track or in the classroom. I am a team player on and off the track, and I am always willing to help anyone who needs my assistance as that's what I was taught to do. My family means everything to me. I want to make them proud, I want to be the best roll model to my neice and two nephews, so I have to give them the best version of me as an example to go by.
