I am determined to be successful academically and athletically. I became interested in Track and Cross Country through elementary school P.E. and track club in 3rd grade. I learned from these experiences that I enjoy pushing myself past seemingly impossible goals, contributing to who I am today. As an athlete, I have developed discipline and diligence necessary for achievement. This discipline is paving a way into successful college competition and academics. I also am a natural competitor and have a strong mentality, being able to push myself through physically hard conditions. I can do this because I was in foster care for several years, having to deal with moving to another home and constant change, which could have been an obstacle from success. I persevered and never gave up. Foster care allowed me to see the consequences of actions and attitudes of others and become a peaceful person.
Academically, I strive to work for straight As in my senior year and pass the 4 AP classes and tests I will take this year. More importantly, I desire to continue being a life long learner and carry that into college. I'd like to continue taking rigorous courses in college and become a Civil Engineer so I can design and build infrastructure that has never been built before. My interests began from building with Jenga and Legos, along with using software to design and create working bridges. I've always been interested in terrain and geography, aspects necessary for Civil Engineering.
