Participation in sports has affected who I am now by making me more competitive and setting goals for myself. It has also helped me to be a leader and Captain for our Cross Country team this year (2014). I have a very strong relationship with my team mates by helping each other become better runners, including Cross Country and Track. It was necessary to prove to myself that however I finished in a race, I did the best I could and would do better the next time. My times dropped and are dropping to a point that I am meeting the goals that I have set. Having the support of my family encourages me to keep trying to do the best I can at each race. I will continue to set and meet my own expectations.
