Growing up, I always played a multitude of sports, but never once thought about running. That is, until the summer before my freshman year. I thought cross country would be a good way to get in better shape for basketball, but after the first meet, I fell in love with the sport. After a couple more successful meets, I earned a spot on the Varsity team, and with this success, I began to like the sport even more. Since then, I have been working hard to become a stronger runner. And, after a bad race at the state qualifying meet my sophomore year, and just missing out on getting the chance to compete at the state meet, I have been working even harder. Even through the pandemic, I am still hard at work week in and week out. All this effort I have put in over the years was with one goal in mind: to extend my running career as long as I can, and run at the collegiate level. Not only do I hope to compete in the sport I love for as long as possible, but I also hope to run in college because I believe that having a network of teammates and coaches I can rely on to help me with all aspects of college would be very beneficial. Not just running, but academics as well, which is ultimately the most important for me. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish these goals, and I'm determined to see it through to the end.
