John Funderburg '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is John Funderburg and I’m a student athlete. I’m in my Junior year at Pleasant Grove High School, Elk Grove, CA.  I have participated in cross country and track and field since middle school 7th grade. I hold several middle school and high school cross country, track and field records. I participated in the USATF Junior Olympics this summer in the 1500 and 3000 meters and was a 2x-All American 15-16 year olds.  Also, I have  been running on my high school varsity squad since I was a freshman.  I believe I am a very talented and passionate runner and always dedicate 100% both to academics and athletics.  One of the reasons I feel I am different from other runners is because I hold high standards on and off the field, and I’m a leader and mentor to my teammates.
