So I’ve done pretty much any popular sport you can think of all the way from soccer to basketball, and I can say without a doubt that running is by far my favorite. What started as a way to skip hangout with friends freshman year developed into a love that I will continue on for the rest of my life whether that’s competitively or not. My sophomore year I was forced to miss both my xc and track season due to a stress fracture in my lower shin. While my close friends/teammates were getting new PRs I was sitting on the sidelines watching. It was a very dark and discouraging time in my life, but from that I grew not only as a runner but an individual as well. It gave me the opportunity to have a better grasp of what I want from running, and currently what I want is a redemption year. I’ve put running as a top priority in my life and the results have been showing from being 10th fastest on the team to now 2nd, I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
