I started running in first grade when I was unable to swim because I broke my arm. I was able to run Track and Cross Country till fourth grade, then I moved to New York and they didn't have an elementary school track team. In place of school teams I ran local 5k's. Since 7th grade, I have been running consistently. My Sophmore Cross Country season I was able to lead my JV team to a league title. I had the opportunity to meet Alberto Salazar at the Nike headquarters track, which continues to be a motivating factor. During my Sophmore track season I injured my foot while triple jumping, but was still able to be the number 2 800m runner on our varsity team. This injury also prevented me from being able to build good summer mileage, so my junior Cross Country season was not what I had hoped for. But I was able to overcome this injury and build a large base during winter training to hopefully have a great track season. So far this season is going well.
