I'd love to run in college. I feel Running helps me stay focused, organized, it keeps me working, and it adds purpose to my life. I love to run, I love to win, and I'm always striving to be better in the sport. Running is so physically demanding, but feeling like shit to beat others, in the end, makes it so worth the work. A little rest or slack in the race to make the pain slow which results in someone passing you is one of the worst feelings ever. It's awesome to practice to my max because I know the other runners won't be doing what I am, so they won't be ready for me, and it's just exhilarating to pass them and take that top spot. Someone will always be faster than me, and I already have, and will lose some fast races, but those losses drive me to compete even harder, which helps make me better. This as well is my attitude towards school work and grades and I work because I know running can help me with money for college, I can't get enough of racing, beating people, and winning, and running is a huge part of my life, and I want to run at the highest level I can possibly be, for as long as I can.
In running, if you slack off, it shows, so if I have a race Friday or Saturday I put everything aside the night before and just focus on preparation for the race. Just to stay focused for one day, so I can be ready the next. Then when all is done I can go back to focus on other things and catch up. But the two days, are preserved for racing. I believe I'd be a great asset to any program that takes me because I know I still have so much potential left in me. I've improved gradually and my school team has definitely helped me improve, but if I can get into a great program that is smart and consistent, I just need to stay smart, strong, and consistent, and I know I can get a lot faster. I'm more of a quiet hard worker. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not the main leader of the team, or the joker, or the loudest guy with the nicest running shorts, newest shoes, and coolest watch, but that doesn't really matter to me. My work ethic is equal to, or better than theirs and I know if I do my thing and stay focused, I'll be okay. Every race I believe that I can beat anyone on that line. Even if they have faster PRs than me I've always believed I could beat them. Of course, I do not always do, but even after I feel like with some more work I can.
