Hey there, my name is Daniel Martinez. I am a senior in PUC Community Charter high school in CA, and as of now I have been running cross country for four years. The first year I did cross country was just for the fun of it and came out of the season with a pretty measly PR of 23 minutes. Over the next two years I educated myself on the aspects of running and absolutely fell in love with the sport and sensation running gave me. By the end of junior year XC I was running 17:20 at pierce college, and now as a senior in the early stages of my 2024 season, I have a new PR of 16:03 at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic invitational. I have a strong desire to continue running in college and even beyond that, as I am a devoted athlete with a genuine love for what I do. I have great social skills, I have been D5 north valley league champion at the Pierce College course two years in a row now, and I take my diet and sleep very seriously in order to optimize performance. In conclusion, I think if given the opportunity to work under serious coaches and teammates that push me to my limits, I can be an amazing collegiate runner, and possibly achieve my goal times of 3:40 in the 1500 1:50 in the 800, and above all, 31 minutes in the XC 10k (or 14 minutes in the 5k). Thank you for your time and consideration.
